Alison Ward

Alison Ward (they/she) is a creator/producer of independent film and theatre with a specific interest in LGBTQIA+ and women’s stories. They hold a B.F.A degree in Theatre from York University, a diploma from Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts and has trained extensively at Toronto’s Second City in Improvisation. While in Toronto, she was one half of the Sketch Comedy Duo “Hot Garbage” and co-hosted the monthly variety show “Cabaret! Cabaret!”   She has written the plays “Hungry Woman’s Breakfast“, “1/4 Life Crisis” and “No Gold Star” and performed and produced each in various cities.  In 2023, they will resume hosting/producing “The Queer Cabaret” as a monthly event at Havana Theatre in Vancouver.

Their work in film includes director of the short “15 Years Later”, co-writer/producer of the short “Empty With Purpose”(Mac Film Festival Brazil), writer/director and co-producer “It’s Not About Kate” (HerStory Cinephelia Society Festival Nashville, Mesa International Film Festival), co-producer of music video “Damn You” for indie band Miss Quincy, and writer/producer/co-director of the Feature “Writing Kim(QFlix Philadelphia, L.I.M.P.A. Finalist (Best Supporting Actress – Alison Ward).

Currently, they live, work and write in Vancouver.
